The Bruins got back in the win column last night with a 3-2 victory at home vs. the Buffalo Sabres. This was a resounding and much needed win for the Bruins who came into this game with a mediocre 2-5 record across their last 7 games. This proved to be a big bounce back game for many players on the Bruins, Tuukka Rask especially, who dominated the game with 36 saves as well as a fantastic diving save to rob the Sabres of a goal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUoSiOvPWog.
The Bruins started this game incredibly slow, as the team was outshot by over 12 shots and were very lucky to escape the period with the game tied thanks to a goal by Brad Marchand. The second period was a lot closer for the Bruins as they were able to pull a goal back as Brad Marchand pounced on a rebound during a power play from a Matt Gryzelcyk shot from the point. Once the third period got going, the Bruins were able to get the power play cooking again and David Pastrnak was able to score his league leading 20th goal of the season to stretch the Bruins lead to 3-1. The Sabres made things interesting in the third period, pulling a goal back to make the game 3-2 late, but the Bruins were able to hold up defensively to eek out the win.
The Bruins were able to pull together a scrappy win to get back in the win column and look to keep the momentum going vs the Minnesota Wild at home on November 23rd.
